Description

Stainless Steel materials are highly corrosion resistant in order to ensure a long lifetime of the optical fibers. The higher the chromium content, the higher the corrosion resistance of the material. The addition of molybdenum also helps to increase corrosion resistance in reducing acids and pitting attacks in chloride solutions. Therefore, NBG offers a wide range of stainless steel materials with varying chromium and molybdenum contents to ensure that the materials will withstand application with no maintenance on the Fiber in Metal Tube.

 

Due to the tiny tube diameter tolerances, the NBG company carefully chooses its suppliers and is therefore being supplied by the best high precision steel strip suppliers in the market. The length of a steel strip varies depending on the width from 300 m to 3.000 m. As NBG provides tubes with a maximum length of 25.000 m, the steel strips are welded together in a certain angle degree in order to ensure the maximum possible tensile strength:
