FIBER IN METAL TUBES
Multi Layered FIMT
- Optical fiber reinforced with as many as four protective layers
- Ideal for fiber optic sensing and data transmission
- Tensile optimized fiber optic cable for harsh surroundings
Optical Fiber Reinforced with Multiple Layers
The design of the Multi Layered Tube (MST) is all about offering strength and security. The inner layers protect the optical fibers from hydrogen and other potentially harmful environmental influences, while the outer layers protect the configuration from mechanical stress.
The fiber optic cable is suitable for direct installation or integration in larger cable configurations. In addition, we offer custom and bespoke solutions, and the MST can be produced with up to 144 fibers at 250μm or 192 fibers at 200μm, making it perfect for fiber optic sensing and data transmission.
The solution performs well in harsh surroundings, including those found in the Military & Defense, Marine, and Oil & Gas industries. Our optical fiber, reinforced with multiple protective layers, is perfect for Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS).
