Intelligent measurement is the key to modern security implementations. The perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) PeriGuard is based on fiber optic sensing technology, this means passive sensing elements are used which require no electrical power in the field. The sensors can be installed in a fence or wall or buried in the ground. Advanced signal processing enables a very high probability of detection (POD) with a low nuisance alarm rate (NAR). The system is immune to adverse climatic events and can discriminate between different attempts (climb over, crawl under or cut through a fence).
